Is your problem frizzy hair?
If this is your problem the carrier oils that you should use are coconut, palm, and shea oil. Carrier oils make up the base of your oil mixture. They are what you use to bind all of your other oils together. Once you choose the carrier oil for your hair there are many other essential oils that can help with this problem, and it's up to you to decide which oils you like best. The other essential oils you can use are rose, sandalwood, geranium, macadamia, clary sage, and chamomile.
Is your problem dandruff and dry scalp?
If this is your problem the carrier oil best suited for you is jojoba. The great thing about this oil is that it is perfect for people who have concerns about moisture retention. The other essential oils that help with this problem are chamomile, rosemary, patchouli, peppermint, and tea tree. Remember when using essential oils, especially peppermint and tea tree, don't use more than a few drops because these oils can burn the scalp because of their potency. If you use peppermint oil in your mixture it will be the smell that over takes the mixture because of its potency.
Do you need your hair to grow?
I know that's not even a real question. We all want our hair to grow so just add of few of these oils to any mixture that you have for your hair problems. Many of these oils, such as chamomile, rosemary, and peppermint, already help with dryness or dandruff so it's really like killing two birds with one stone. Other oils include thyme, cedar, lavender, sweet almond, castor, west Indian bay, basil, and yarrow.
